Park District Lighting Incentive

ComEd offers incentives for park districts to upgrade interior and exterior lighting to more energy efficient technology which saves money by reducing electricity consumption and lowering maintenance costs.

Incentive Available

Elevate Energy assists park districts in taking advantage of the many ComEd standard lighting incentives. The requirements of the incentive program are:0617-EE-comed-park-district-infosheet-chart-2

  • Must be in the ComEd service territory
  • Installation and final application must be completed between June 1, 2017 and December 31, 2017

The incentive for upgrading interior fixtures to light-emitting diode technology (LED) is $0.60 per watt reduced and $0.70 per watt reduced for exterior fixtures. Click to download a list of all available lighting incentives.

Energy efficient lighting products must meet the lighting measure requirements, such as ENERGY STAR® rated and DesignLights Consortium approved.

Products manufactured or assembled in Illinois may be eligible for a 10% bonus.

Incentives are capped at 75% of the total cost of the project.

Application Process

  • Provide education about the benefits of energy efficient lighting
  • Help identify eligible lighting projects and calculate potential incentive amounts
  • Provide guidance in collecting and recording required application data and documentation
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of pre-approval applications
  • Help document project implementation and verify that it meets program requirements
  • Complete and submit final applications with supporting documentation
